Dancing to the Melody of the Future

“Hope is hearing the melody of the future.  Faith is to dance to it.”*

What is the melody that your future will compose?

How do (will) you dance to it today in faith?

“You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing.” Psalm 30:11

*My husband read this quote today in Ben Patterson’s God’s Prayer Book: The Power and Pleasure of Praying the Psalms.  Patterson credits the lovely expression of hope and faith to Rubem Alves in Tomorrow’s Child.

  1. Dancing in faith here, for sure, Judy! I’d like to know more about “praying the Psalms”–how do you do that? Or should I just get the book? God bless you BIG. Much love, sis Cj

    1. I thought of you as I posted this one, Cj:) As for praying the Psalms, I haven’t yet read the book. The author was a speaker at our Community Bible Study teaching director conference back in January, and he so impressed me with his practical and inspiring application of the Psalms that I bought his book for Dan. Dan’s really enjoying it, and I’ll read it when he’s done. In general, though, I have “prayed the Psalms” in my own way when I read one that resonates with my own concern or feeling or prayer. I just re-phrase it personally and pray it! Big blessings back to you!

      1. How lovely and dear of you to think of me, Judy–what a big blessing that is! Okay, so I shouldn’t try to make it more complicated, difficult (burden it with rules!)–just pray it as the Holy Spirit leads? Sounds good! You’re the best–I tell everyone!
